Privacy notice
Last updated 2026-10-05
In short: we don't collect any data about you or your work. Your audio, video and transcripts stay on your computer, and Captio sends us no usage data, analytics or crash reports. The only data that reaches anyone is the bare technical minimum needed for things to work: your IP address when Captio checks your license, when you download Captio, or when you download a bigger speech model, plus the details needed to process your purchase, which Lemon Squeezy handles.
1. Who is responsible
RehakIT vl. Bruno Řehak (RehakNet), Vinka Rehaka 17, 34550 Pakrac, Croatia, is the controller for the data described here. Contact: support@rehaknet.com.
2. What we do not collect
- Your audio, video, transcripts, subtitles or file names. They are processed on your computer and never uploaded.
- Anything about how you use Captio: no analytics, no usage tracking, no crash reports, no telemetry. Errors are written only to a log file on your computer.
- Accounts or profiles. There are none.
- An update check. Captio never looks for new versions by itself.
We run no server that Captio talks to, so we receive no data from the app.
3. What is processed, and by whom
| When | You activate Captio, and about once a day afterwards. Captio sends your license key and a random device label to the license service of Lemon Squeezy, which also sees your IP address. This is to check that your license is valid and to keep to the limit of three activations. If you're offline or the service can't be reached, Captio keeps working. We don't log or store these IP addresses ourselves. |
|---|---|
| When | You download an extra speech model. Captio fetches the file from Hugging Face, which sees the request and your IP address. Nothing you transcribed is sent. |
| When | You download the installer. The file is hosted on GitHub, which sees your IP address. This is your browser connecting, not the app. |
| When | You visit this website. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which may keep technical logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operation. We use no analytics or advertising. |
| When | You buy a license. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record. It collects your payment and billing details and handles tax, receipts, refunds and your license key. We don't see your card details. In our Lemon Squeezy account we can see order details such as your email address, name, country, order number and license key. |
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy:Lemon Squeezy,Hugging Face,GitHub,Cloudflare. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards described in their policies.
4. Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. When you open the checkout, Lemon Squeezy's pages may set cookies, under its own policy.
5. Why we use data
To deliver what you bought (your license and its checks), to give you support, to handle refunds, and to meet legal and tax obligations. Legal basis: performance of a contract, legal obligation, and our legitimate interest in running and securing the service and supporting you.
6. How long it is kept
- Order records (email, order number, date of purchase) in our Lemon Squeezy account: for the lifetime of your license, so we can help if you lose your key.
- Support emails: deleted two years after the conversation ends.
- Payment and tax records are kept by Lemon Squeezy as seller of record, for as long as the law requires.
- IP addresses are not stored by us. Retention at the providers above follows their own policies.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a copy, or object to processing, and you can complain to your data protection authority (in Croatia, AZOP, azop.hr). Email support@rehaknet.com. Some records must be kept for tax law, and deleting your order data may mean we can no longer support your license.
8. Changes
If this notice changes, for example if Captio ever gains an update check or any other connection, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
